Creative Thinking Calls For Hartland Approach

News Item
The Jurys luxury 4 star hotel in Great Russell Street, in the west end of London, has installed Hamilton Litestat’s Hartland satin stainless steel wiring accessory range as part of a major refurbishment project which is designed to create a memorable level of luxury.

This prestigious hotel, which offers one of the best locations of any London city hotel, is currently being re-branded under the Doyle Collection. This multi-million euro branding and investment programme aims to bring out the very best in each hotel within the group, creating modern luxury in a style that is very much in keeping with its exceptional location. To underline its ties with its local area this hotel will soon be re-launched as the Bloomsbury Hotel, thereby reflecting its quality of location and uniqueness of character.

Designed by the celebrated 20th century English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, this magnificent Grade II listed building has been sensitively restored to blend old world grandeur with contemporary comfort, whilst maintaining the all important emphasis on the arts and crafts movement. Being very much part of the Bloomsbury landscape, this hotel is set within a terrace of elegant Georgian buildings and land marks such as the British Museum and Senate House Library.   The interior has therefore been fully refurbished to offer a fabulous fusion of London design styles with its classic and executive hotel bedrooms, modern restaurant, bar and conference centre. All of the air-conditioned en-suite rooms have been furnished and equipped to a very high standard, including: complimentary high-speed internet access, multi-channel TVs and minibars.

Hamilton Litestat’s satin stainless steel Hartland plates were specified by the hotel’s design team, which included interior designers The Cunningham McLean Partnership of Glasgow, as they complemented the luxurious finishes within the guest rooms. According to Lesley McKellar of CMP, “We have used Hamilton’s Hartland plate in many other hotel applications and have found it to be very durable. It is a very good product which has a very nice finish which wears really well. That is important in this type of environment as the switches and sockets get a lot of hard use.”

O’Hanlon & Farrell Contracts Ltd, a multi-disciplined organisation that encompasses all areas of property and construction development, is the appointed project engineers responsible for the complete electrical installation. They have installed all the required Hartland switches, sockets and dimmers within the guest rooms. “The Hartland plates have been very easy to install and look really good when fitted”, said the project engineer Franscesco Hila. “As this hotel serves visitors from America and Europe we had special plates made by Hamiltons to incorporate American and European sockets.”

The supplied plates included modified RJ45 Cat 5e(unshielded) data modules which offer enhanced performance. There were also satellite outlets for the room’s cable TV installations. Each of these plates was supplied with black inserts to contrast and complement the satin stainless finish.

This wiring accessories order was supplied through the Plymouth branch of Edmundson Electrical.
